Are you interested in Amazon Alexa, the brain behind Amazon Echo? As a Software Engineer on the Alexa Orchestration Engine team, you will be enabling new features in Alexa and developing code that runs in the core engine of Alexa. Alexa’s Orchestration Engine is one of the core services that gets run every time you speak to Alexa. Creating an efficient platform architecture that serves both experimental and production use-cases entails solving a wonderfully fun and challenging set of problems. We need well-intentioned and scalable software to develop new features that will be launched to customers world-wide. This is a team where you can pursue and expand your software career while being at the forefront of engineering and product innovation in our industry. What you’ll be doing: · Writing code most of the time · Utilizing AWS Compute, Networking, Security, Storage, and Database services such as CloudFormation, EC2, S3, EBS, Lambda, AutoScaling, and DynamoDB, and many more on a regular
· 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience · Programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design · 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. · MS in Computer Science or Engineering · Experience in building large scale distributed systems · Experience in scaling and performance tuning of large systems · Experience with AWS and other cloud technologies · Excellent communication and analytical skills
