The Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) VPC team is looking for software engineers who have a passion for diving deep while also being able to see the big picture. We are re-engineering our virtual networking control plane as part of Amazon’s initiative to get EC2 performance to be as close as possible to that of bare metal. Such a software engineer would be part of the team responsible for building and scaling up the high-performance software required to process thousands of customer VPC updates every second. These updates span 10+ million VPC networks and 100’s of millions of elastic network interfaces. If you are a Software Engineer with a strong coding background and a passion for distributed systems,
· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field · Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Ruby, or Python with a strong base in object-oriented design and development · Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations · A minimum of 3years of software development· Experience with enterprise scale distributed systems · Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and
