We use data and machine learning and build scalable services to determine what product characteristics are most important to customers, and recommend products with high value-for-price. We raise the bar on current product substitution algorithms and work across multiple platforms that support Amazon’s retail website and business. We want you to lead conceptualization, design, and development as we learn more about our customers’ behavior and find ways to give them the products that they want. - You have strong experience in object oriented programming (Java or C++). Experience with JavaScript or Python is nice to have but not necessary. - You have a demonstrated ability to lead medium scale/complexity projects from design to launch - You have experience building data structures and algorithms for large-scale software or online services - You are aware of one- vs. two-way doors and an interest in the business implications of your work. - Be a champion for software engineering best practices and operational excellence- Experience with Machine Learning - particularly recommendation systems,
