The Developer Tools organization within Amazon Web Services (AWS) at Amazon is looking for a talented Software Development Engineer to join the Quilt team. Our team owns the software and systems that help Amazon’s millions of internal hosts to be automatically patched with the latest security updates to keep them current and secured. Our systems make it possible for every system at Amazon to be patched without having to jeopardize the availability our customers expect. We deliver the technology that powers fully automated patching! We are looking for developers who are passionate about making our hosts secure without service owners' intervention. Builder Tools owns and builds every aspect of our products from the UI and external APIs down to the backend services and databases. These teams specifically own the software and systems that help Amazon’s massive developer community turn revolutionary ideas into code running on production servers. • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field • Equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree based on 3 years of work experience for every 1 year of education • Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design • Computer Science fundamentals in data structures • Computer Science fundamentals in algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis • Proficiency in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, Python, Java, or Perl1+ years industry experience as a Software Engineer or a Software Developer; Experience building complex, scalable, high-performance
