The Amazon Device Design Group (DDG) is looking for an experienced and motivated design research leader to help identify design opportunities and frame strategies for our products and platforms. We are looking for a candidate to continue to build Amazon as the world’s most customer-centric company. As a senior design researcher, you will work closely with design and product teams to identify opportunities through deep understanding of unmet user needs and translate them to actionable insights for product development. You will help frame and inform product and design direction through inspiration, insights, and validations. Together with members of the research team, you will help build best practices and techniques for the Amazon research community. You will be an advocate for design research and be the voice of the customer in the product development process. You are highly collaborative, with a consistent record of working closely with teams to influence outcomes and propose well-informed

· 8+ years leading strategic user research projects. · Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience. · Experience with developing user insights, trends research, iterative prototype evaluation, value proposition assessment, concept testing, lab-based user testing, and field research. · End-to-end experience with all aspects of the design research lifecycle (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting, and executive presentations). · Experience selecting the right mix of methods to provide actionable insights to research questions
