The Visual C++ team is looking for an outstanding engineering manager to join our Libraries team. As a software engineering manager on the Libraries team, you'll have the opportunity to work on implementation of Microsoft's Standard Library (STL) implementing the ISO C++ standard, often as the first user of new language features in the Visual C++ compiler. You'll also have the opportunity to work on a variety of open source tools and libraries helping native code to connect to Azure and a number of foundational technologies used in C++ applications on Windows. You will be expected to lead and manage the design, implementation, testing, and support of your features as well as participate in other aspects of shipping our code as open source and/or in Visual Studio. Basic: At least 5 years of advanced C/C++ knowledge and experience BS in Computer Science or Engineering. Preferred: 5 or more years of experience in designing/shipping libraries/APIs/tools A strong track record of shipping secure, high quality software through all phases of the product cycle Demonstrated successes in cross team partnerships Experience leading, mentoring and managing a team of software engineers as large as 10 engineers Proven track record of growing your team and employees Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this
