Security is the #1 concern for customers moving to the cloud, and AWS is dedicated to providing security features our customers need, at scale. AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) enables customers to secure their workloads in the cloud by providing authentication and authorization mechanisms to all of AWS. We run some of the highest scale, performant and available services in AWS. We are looking for a senior software developer who is technically very strong, with deep knowledge in web services, backend storage design, and distributed systems, takes pride in tackling challenges, excels at working in an agile environment, and gets excited about owning the architecture of a set of critical platform services that serve customers globally every second of every day. You will provide technical leadership to the team that owns design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operation of the new global distributed systems that are core to all AWS services. · Degree in Computer Science or a related field · 8+ years experience building successful production software systems · A solid grounding in Computer Science fundamentals · Deep experience in at least one modern programming language such as C, C++, C# or Java and mastery of object-oriented design and programming · 3+ years in technical leadership role · Experience with distributed systems · Ability to translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed architecture and design · Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility tradeoffs · Excellent written
