Ensuring windows devices are update-to-date and secure is at the core of the Windows As A Service (WaaS) story. Our team is the Windows Currency team in WSD and our mission is to help every single Windows 10 device get current and to strive for a seamless upgrade experience. We are looking for software engineers to work on challenging issues like driving the currency charter for Windows feature updates and quality updates to ensure a great Windows experience, improving the end to end velocity and adoption of updates, and looking for opportunities to build a fragmentation-proof update stack. As part of this effort, you will collaborate with multiple partner teams across the company, identify the right scenarios that will make WaaS shine and innovate to bake these scenarios into our software, products and delivery pipeline. To plan and orchestrate the releases of updates including the feature update. Own feature areas and help plan and prioritize the implementation to support business direction to ensure high quality and timely delivery. Analyze data and articulate problems and solutions of wider scope across teams and drive for results. Competitive and collaborative, strong technical leadership to work with team resolve complicated design and implementation issues. Solve performance, scalability, and process problems.
Basic Qualifications: 5+ years coding in C/C++ Preferred Qualification: Strong CS fundamentals. 5+ years of experience shipping software Excellent design, debugging, troubleshooting and problem resolving skills. Customer focused, result oriented, team player. Interest/exposure to agile practices, ability to deal with ambiguity. Experience in big data, for example cosmos, is a big plus. BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering related discipline or equivalent experience. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.
