Amazon’s Zero Waste team is looking for a talented senior software engineer to lead a team on sustainability-focused software initiatives in our mission to eliminate the burden of waste disposal for customers, Amazon operations, and the Earth. You will work with technical leaders across Amazon to create and own your architectural vision, and lead and mentor a team of highly skilled software engineers. You will work with key product stakeholders across Amazon to quantify opportunities for waste reduction and guide the prioritization of large-scale elimination efforts. You will design systems that remove millions of pounds of excess packaging and intelligently route donations of unsold/unneeded inventory to charitable causes at Amazon scale. Sr. Engineers at Amazon are thought leaders and force multipliers who help develop and enhance the talent around them, and for this role you should be comfortable working with business stakeholders to identify and refine new projects, diving deep into
· Bachelor’s and/or Master's Degree in Computer Science or related degree · 5+ years professional experience in software development · Strong architectural and system design skills in Java, C#, Scala, or other high-scale programming language· Experience taking a leading role in building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers with other engineers working under your guidance · Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management,
