The AWS Safety Engineering team builds large-scale systems to ensure that AWS customers have the highest-availability, lowest-latency cloud experience on the planet. We partner with AWS product teams to build data collection and operational automation systems that detect and mitigate risks before they cause problems for our customers. We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced senior software engineer to help us succeed in this mission. As a technical leader, you will have a broad role building user interfaces and services that must tackle a wide range of problems to identify and mitigate risks to the operational health of AWS services. - 5+ years experience building successful production web services - Demonstrated knowledge of best practices for the design and implementation of web user interfaces as well as experience in taking such services from design to production - Proficient in 1 or more core languages (e.g. Javascript/ES6, Java, C++, Python, or Ruby) - Proficient in 1 or more version control software platforms (e.g. git, Subversion, Mercurial) - Excellent problem-solving skills - Excellent written and verbal communication - Strong customer focus, ownership, urgency and drive - Demonstrated ability to mentor other developers
