The team behind Amazon's shopping website is looking for a smart, motivated, and driven Senior Software Dev Engineer to drive the design and architecture behind a new initiative. Our Consumer Website group powers and drives innovation of some of the highest trafficked pages on the internet including Amazon's homepage (www.amazon.com), Amazon's Shopping Cart, and Amazon's Checkout experience, as well as the site-wide navigation used by millions of customers every day. The right candidate must be able to communicate up, down, and out to technical and business leaders. Also, must be able to architect and build based on the vision, anticipate bottlenecks, balance the business needs versus technical constraints. A successful candidate will bring broad technical and deep software expertise and an ability to technically lead a team in a fast moving environment in a large company to own and operate systems with an immense business impact. · Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or relevant work experience · 10+ years professional software development experience · 7+ years developing applications for web services or applications · Experience defining system architectures and exploring technical feasibility trade-offs · Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C++, or Objective-C · Understanding of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST· Strong sense of ownership, bias for action, urgency, and drive · Experience in Agile/SCRUM enterprise-scale software development ·
