Do you want to help make Windows be the most secure operating system on the market? Do you want to run and grow a vulnerability research team dedicated to securing several Windows components? The Windows vulnerability research team is looking for a talented security technical lead. This lead will drive vision and roadmap for major security initiatives around vulnerability research and help secure pieces of the Windows operating system. The vulnerability research team for Windows is one of the teams responsible for securing the Windows client and server operating systems, used by millions of customers every day, along with Microsoft devices such as Xbox, HoloLens and Surface. This team also reviews Azure components running on top of Windows, in addition to helping secure uses of Linux within Microsoft. This team performs security design reviews, code reviews, and penetration testing on key Windows features and devices to make sure they meet the highest possible security standards. In this

Lead and participate in security reviews to identify and mitigate risk in Windows, Azure and Linux uses within Microsoft. Activities here include design review, code reviews, fuzzing and penetration testing Be one of the security consultants for teams building new innovative products and technologies in the next version of Windows Identify and drive fixes to security vulnerabilities in Windows components Collaborate with other security teams across Microsoft to design and develop new security mitigations and defenses Leverage a broad and current understanding of OS/application security Interact
Basic qualifications: 3+ years of software development or security experience. Preferred qualifications: Public track record of relevant security research, especially around platform/operating systems vulnerability discovery Experience exploiting bugs and bypassing security mitigations in operating systems Familiarity with Microsoft Windows internals Ability to learn new skills and operate in a fast-paced and changing environment Excel in cross group and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the business need for security Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security
