The geospatial industry is witnessing explosive competition and innovation, reflecting the critical importance of location to an expanding range of scenarios, from the Internet of Things (IoT) to mobile and mixed reality. As part of the AI and Research Division, Microsoft Maps and Geospatial develops an AI-infused platform which provides data, services, APIs/SDKs and map controls for Microsoft (including Bing, Windows, Cortana and Office), plus third-party developers and enterprises, for building state-of-the-art location-enabled and map-based solutions for the real-world! Data lies at the heart of this platform. The geospatial data team acquires, integrates, processes, publishes and maintains a worldwide geospatial data set that powers the platform. Substantial investments are being made to expand this capability by supporting data from multiple sources, enabling us to offer the most optimal geospatial data for a given purpose. Drive the geospatial data publishing lifecycle; define and track metrics and KPIs that characterize data quality Develop new partnerships and manage ongoing relationships with key data providers Identify, acquire and integrate new data sources with a focus on improving quality and delivering solutions Incorporate global readiness as a core part of data publishing Define and drive the development of the processes, tools, dashboards, documentation and communications to support the data publishing lifecycle
Required: B.S. in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent industry experience 5 or more years of experience in Program Management A track record of shipping in a fast-paced data-oriented release environment Experience analyzing, synthesizing and communicating complex issues Experience writing simple, clear scenarios, problem statements, requirements and specifications Strong cross-team collaboration skills Experience collaborating with partners and customers Strong data and metrics orientation Preferred: Experience working with geospatial data, map-making, open maps (for example,
