Our CEO's vision of Microsoft is the productivity and platform-company for the mobile-first and cloud-first world. The Microsoft Corporate Strategy team is a small strategic group that advises our CEO and executive leadership team on assessing, prioritizing, and driving the long term strategic direction for the company across its portfolio of products including Office, Azure, Windows, Xbox, Surface hardware, AI, new incubations, etc. We are looking for a Sr. Manager/Director of Corporate Strategy and Development. The team has built a track record of spotting trends early, breaking down complex problems in a data driven way, and ultimately driving real change throughout the company while working closely with business partners. Generally speaking, the group focuses on two sets of activities: 1 - Outside-in thought leadership on the future state of the industry and potential impact Microsoft's overall strategy and businesses 2 - Running specific projects that provide senior executive council
- Demonstrated hypothesis-driven problem solving orientation with exceptional ability to create structured quantitative and qualitative analyses; sound business judgement and problem framing - Exceptional executive level oral and written communication skills and ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner - Ability to manage multiple simultaneous high-priority projects (often including project management of cross-functional v-teams and strategy analysts) - Strong financial/business modeling and analysis skills; deal experience
- Demonstrated abilities in developing strategy and driving impact; - Minimum 4+ years of strategic consulting and/or investment banking experience. - Proven project management capabilities; comfortable working under demanding deadlines and producing key senior executive deliverables. - A track record of successfully negotiating across a broad range of potentially conflicted attributes including business, product, technology, branding, channels, and third-party contributions to arrive at the optimum strategy. - Deep understanding of software and business technology markets, trends, and dynamics
