Global Product Safety and Compliance (GPSC) is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Scientist (MLS) to lead the definition and prioritization of machine learning capability for emerging risk assessment, proactive safety controls, and dynamic product classification. GPSC Product and Technology is responsible for the technology infrastructure enabling the safety of all products globally at Amazon. You will be a senior technical leader in the existing GPSC Product and Technology team to drive the data science and machine learning needed for our product development and safety control processes. Our goal is to disrupt the current state of risk assessment at Amazon and the world by using machine learning to bring together deep subject matter expertize and automated data-driven decision-making
Basic qualifications: · MS in Data Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Math or equivalent highly technical field. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience, including senior executives, and be able to translate business objectives into action · 10+ years of hands-on experience working in data science and/or machine learning using models and methods such as neural networks, random forests, SVMs or Bayesian classification. · Proficient using R, Python, or other equivalent
