We are looking for a dynamic, resourceful, and organized Economist within Amazon Logistics’ Amazon Flex organization to develop new, data-driven solutions to support the most critical components of this rapidly scaling operation. The Amazon Flex Team has an opening for applied micro and empirical IO economists with demonstrated industry, policy, or academic experience. You will apply economic theory to build econometric models, and prototype scalable implementations in partnership with technical teams, using Amazon’s world class data systems. You will be expected to be a thought leader as we chart new courses with our delivery support technologies. Successful candidates will have a deep knowledge of quantitative
· PhD in Economics. · 6+ years of experience in industry, consulting, government or academic research.· Strong background in statistics methodology, applications to business problems, and/or big data. · Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment. · Strong research track record. · Effective verbal and written communications skills. · Preferred specialties in applied micro or empirical IO, but behavioral economists and generalists with broad applied econometric skills are also encouraged to apply. · Applicants with considerably more experience, including mid-career, are also strongly encouraged
