Come and be a key technical contributor on the fast paced, high energy team responsible for developing Manufacturing Test solutions for Microsoft Devices such as Xbox, Kinect, HoloLens, Surface and Surface Hub. This is a management position in a high-profile business for Microsoft. As the Sr. Director of Software Development you will lead a team of software engineers to design and develop Manufacturing Test Suites and the Manufacturing Test Platform they are running on. Success will depend on working closely with and influencing cross-functional and cross organizational teams to define and develop the next generation software platform for manufacturing tests.
A strong background in software/hardware or systems engineering on a wide variety of products, excellent technical and analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication, the ability to influence and produce excellent technical designs, experience leading highly capable teams and demonstrating a proven track record of shipping software. Technical strengths must include knowledge of hardware and software development and quality assurance. Knowledge of medium to high volume consumer product manufacturing, hardware production lifecycles, and new hardware product launch processes are strongly
15+ years of related Electrical/Computer Engineering experience. 5+ years of related Systems Engineering experience. Proven track record as a strong, inspirational leader of software engineers and the ability to coach and grow people. Experience focusing on both hardware and software systems development. Experience with medium to high volume as well as medium to high mix production environments desirable.
