The AWS Finance Central Economics team is looking for a Senior Engineer to build data pipelines and be an integral part of our research team. The successful candidate will build a data pipeline and analytics on very large data sets in one of the world's largest and most complex data warehouse environments. The candidate will also be able to stretch their skills in Machine Learning and Data Lake Technologies. Our data warehouse is built on AWS cloud technology like EC2, S3, and Redshift. Our current reporting architecture leverages Microstrategy, AWS QuickSight, Salesforce and internal custom email based flash reporting tools and systems. The role requires strong understanding of large datasets, solid interpersonal and communication skills, a keen attention to detail, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, an entrepreneurial ability to work with minimal direction, and rapid prototyping. · Bachelor’s degree in math, finance, engineering, statistics, or related discipline or equivalent experience required · 5+ years hands on analytics work experience with proven quantitative orientation · Proven analytical and quantitative skills and ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop business cases · Fluency in R, Python or a similar modeling language, and proficiency in SQL · Strong skills in Excel as well as other data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, QuickSight, etc. · Experience in designing and implementing custom reporting systems by managing
