The Economics Technology team (ET) applies Machine Learning, Causal Inference, and Economic Methodologies to derive actionable insights about the complex economy of Amazon’s retail business and to develop algorithms to drive strategic business decisions and improve operations. We are an interdisciplinary team of Economists, Engineers, and Scientists incubating and building day one solutions using cutting-edge technology, to solve some of the toughest business problems at Amazon. This is a unique, high visibility opportunity for someone who wants to have business impact, dive deep into large-scale economic problems, enable measurable actions on the Consumer economy, and work closely with scientists and economists. As the Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, you will play a key role in creating a foundation for product vision and roadmap. You will need to collect information from business teams and build systems, dashboards, recommendations, and tools that have a global and lasting impact
· 4+ years’ work relevant experience · BA/BS in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Operations Research, or closely related field. · Expertise using SQL for acquiring and transforming data · Outstanding quantitative modeling and statistical analysis skills · Advanced skills in Excel as well as any data visualization tools like Tableau or similar BI tools · Advanced ability to draw insights from data and clearly communicate them (verbal/written) to the stakeholders and senior management as required. · Experience with object-oriented programming languages · Be self-driven, and show ability
