Data Operations Manager
Amazon is seeking a talented and highly motivated Data Operations Manager to develop and manage ML Data Associates to support in the area of machine learning and natural language data processing in Customer Service. The Data Operations Manager will build, train and lead a team of associates to deep dive, annotate complex data sets and partner closely with the Engineering and Data Science teams developing automation solutions. S/he will become an expert in the transcription and annotation processes, train and support the transcription team, maintain accuracy and throughput standards. The successful candidate will work highly autonomous, is very detail oriented, demonstrated experience in people management, has excellent project management skills, and possesses very strong written and verbal communication skills. Specifically, the Data Operations Manager will: · Manage the operations floor on a day to day basis covering approximately 6-8 Associates and Subject Matter Experts · Support hiring
· Bachelor’s or advanced degree in a relevant field · Experience with performance and throughput metrics, analysis and reporting · Experience managing and coaching employees · Experience as a hiring manager · Experience with project management · Track record of strong business judgement · Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and very detail-oriented · Ability to work with and eliminate ambiguity · Excellent proficiency in English, both spoken and written· 3+ years experience in managing process and operational escalations · 3+ years experience with SQL and Data Analytics tools
