Sound is at the core of the PC experience, whether it is for playing games, talking to friends and loved ones, using Narrator to navigate your PC, using Cortana, or listening to music and videos. As a member of the Audio PM team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end audio system in our core OS, from the driver, up through the audio platform and developer APIs, to the customer's ears. The Media Platform team in COSINE is the center of excellence for core audio, video, and streaming technologies that enable essential systems and products across the company. The team is successfully driving wins with industry leaders like Surface, Xbox, and key 3rd party partners, as well as investing in new ventures like Voice Assistants. This is a high visibility area that requires a high degree of cross-group collaboration to deliver
Key responsibilities include: • Help set the vision and product strategies for the audio platform • Build roadmaps by deeply understanding the requirements, dependencies, and risks • Designing in a cross-discipline manner, executing on, and successfully shipping world class features • Working closely with partners and stakeholders to ensure alignment • Analyze data to ensure we're making correct decisions each step of the way • Developing a leadership position in the space, helping guide our platform designs, roadmaps, and other investments across teams
Required: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent • 3+ years of experience shipping products in a program manager or developer capacity Preferred: • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-group collaboration skills • Great design and problem-solving skills, with a bias for customer obsession, data-driven quality, and engineering excellence • The ability to see the bigger picture and focus on end-to-end scenarios • Ability and passion to lead cultural initiatives, having positive impact on team morale, and fostering an environment
