Our team owns and is responsible for all the software aspects of the kernel; this includes the scheduler, memory management, process management, UWP app lifecycle management, and variety of OS security features such as Control Flow Guard, which has helped in wiping out entire attack surfaces on Windows. In addition to making Windows kernel more secure, robust and scalable, our team also invests heavily in moonshot projects such as Windows 10 on ARM and Containerization; both which assist our Windows ecosystem grow and attract new customers. Responsibilities and Success Metrics: Build a clear, customer focused vision and roadmap for your feature areas. Depth engagement with stakeholders resulting in technical requirements from current business problems. Write specifications, designs, and customer documentation while collaborating with many stakeholders to ensure agreement and accuracy. Plan and track software development. On-time delivery that results in software that meets stakeholder requirements and customer expectations. The ability to apply metrics to measure this outcome. Required qualifications: 3+ years of software development experience or a Degree in Computer Science, EE or equivalent Preferred qualifications: 4+ years of engineering program management or large-scale operations experience A track record of delivering software with many cross-team dependencies Demonstrated performance in prior roles, with increasing levels of responsibility and accountability BS/BA degree, MS preferred in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
