The Design Studio for Gaming is looking for a Principal User Experience Manager to build and lead a design team focused on gaming's unique digital store experiences across console, PC, and mobile. These experiences should express profoundly user-focused design and exude quality and craftsmanship. Expectations for store-related experiences vary across gaming, and this role will set the direction of design consistency—while also answering the bespoke needs of assorted gaming storefronts. Games are enjoyed by everyone, and this design leader needs to drive a contemporary, contextual viewpoint of experiences relating to stores. This manager is well versed in product development cycles, can bring a number of user-centered design processes to bear, and has a diverse and extensive portfolio. We will look to this person to articulate a strong design point of view, inspire a team, and resolve the best course of action in partnership with User Research and based upon telemetry. Set a creative and experiential vision for gaming-related storefronts Drive user satisfaction via extraordinary storefront experiences (e.g. the Xbox store on console and PC) Hire and develop a team of designers Mentor and train creative staff at all levels Collaborate across teams and disciplines with peers and authorities in monetization, brand, marketing, development, etc. Craft and lead scenarios, flows, information architecture diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, UI pattern libraries, interaction guidelines, and other artifacts Ensure that designs use insights and context provided from rich
An accomplished design portfolio; store-related design experience a plus Deep knowledge of various design disciplines, with particular strength in UX A background in gaming or a personal passion for it Ability to quickly produce elegant and easily understood artifacts, both personally and via the design team Cross-team and cross-discipline communication skills and understanding of related business and technology processes Confident presentation skills to all levels of an organization Innate curiosity for UX and UI Inclusive design experience Bachelor's/Master's degree in product design, HCI, interaction
