The team builds developer tools (Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code), and designs and develops compilers and runtimes for C#, TypeScript (JavaScript) and C++. In a 2018 survey done by stackoverflow.com, Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code were the top 2 most popular development environments and tools. We are looking for a principal software engineer to help us deliver tools and services to significantly improve developers' productivity. We are bringing the power of machine learning to help developers be more productive with services like Visual Studio IntelliCode. We are bringing innovative collaboration services like Visual Studio Live Share so developers can work together to code and debug their apps and services. You will partner with team members across the Visual Studio family, impacting every corner of Visual Studio, to help ensure Visual Studio remains the most productive part of our
Basic Qualifications: 8+ years of experience developing commercial software and/or service Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years of experience developing commercial software and/or services. Strong design and development experience that includes development in C++/C/C#, preferably with distributed programming models Passion in building and designing very large-scale and secure systems; prior experience in building large scale online systems is a big plus.
