We are looking for a customer-obsessed, analytical, Principal Software Engineer to serves a technical lead for the continued development of a product suite that has changed the way Amazon manages tax compliance for millions of customers around the globe. To be successful in this role you will need to be a great leader, innovator, influencer and an analytical problem solver. You will need to think and act fast, deal with ambiguity and be able to develop ideas into products that work on a global scale. You’ll help establish technical standards and drive Amazon’s overall technical architecture and engineering practices. · BS Degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering; or equivalent experience. · 12+ years of relevant, broad software engineering experience. · Experience leading development life-cycle process and best practices. · Experience with Agile (SCRUM, RUP, XP), OO modeling, SOA, UNIX, middleware, and database systems. · Experience mentoring/training an engineering community on complex technical issues. · MBA and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field. · Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale, highly available, low latency, high quality systems and software products
