We are searching for a strong self-driven Principal Program Manager Lead for Microsoft's Defender Research team. Windows Defender Research is a global team of anti-malware researchers, advanced threat hunters, and agile malware responders at the forefront of protecting Windows and the Microsoft ecosystem from emerging malware threats such as ransomware. We power protection in products like Windows Defender, Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection, System Center Endpoint Protection, Office 365, Azure, and more. We are an industry leading threat research lab that responds to customer issues with malware and use cutting edge anti-malware techniques to help keep our customers safe. The main responsibilities include but not limited to Bring people together across disciplines to develop ideas and concepts to further protection value through research and Defender features and rapidly prototype to validate your ideas Frame the problems we want to go after, get team alignment on goals and measurements, and drive the daily activities that ensure we are delivering a valuable solution. Detail the design, scenarios and engineering of next gen research productivity including tools and backend service for malware classification Work with Engineering and Design leads to create a plan,
BS+ in Computer Science or Computer Engineering Proven team leadership and people management capabilities via 3+ years of experience managing a team performing security monitoring operations 5+ years of experience in either forensics for multiple platforms, security incident response, or investigating and recovering from compromise Excellent interpersonal skills and effective written/verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to C-level audiences Experience working with Enterprise customers and preferably have shipped enterprise features.
