The Azure Networking Team is growing and we're looking for a creative and hard-working engineer who can combine network engineering with software development fundamentals our journey towards the world's best SDN platform. We're passionate about automating every facet of the network to converge on a self-growing and self-healing network. We want engineers that are equally passionate who can look at the problems with a Customer's perspective and create user experiences that truly enable and empower Technicians, Engineers and Planners.
Focusing on the global Optical and IP backbone network, and working closely with partner teams in Azure Networking, you'll be a critical part of developing the large-scale services that drive our network to autonomy. You will work on human-centered automation, auto and pre-emptive failure remediation (e.g. fiber cuts, undersea cable failures, hardware failures), topology validation, and hardware data models with streaming telemetry. You will get the rare opportunity to see your code in action by supporting the global network in the dev/ops model.
Preferred Qualifications: Self-starter with proven ability to own creative solutions that enable customers end to end. Experience with C#, Python, REST, GRPC, YAML, and Workflow systems. Excellent DWDM or Router fundamentals, or strong desire to learn more about these spaces. Ability to analyze complex networking domains and write reusable code that simplifies and abstracts the underlying systems. Interest and ability to research new and emerging technologies to better solve networking problems. Proven track record of getting hands dirty to fix problems and drive partner teams.
