The Identity division has an exciting Group Software Engineering Manager role (Principal Level) leading our IDEA (Identity Data and Experimentation) team. Identity is the division that builds and runs the Identity infrastructure for Microsoft – including Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Account. We serve over a billion active users and power Identity experiences at the core of almost every Microsoft product and service. There is a lot of growth opportunity in this space. This is a manager of managers role leading a team of engineers and data scientists within the Identity division that partners very closely with teams across Microsoft.

You'd be joining a team in a very fast growing space with a huge opportunity to make an impact at massive scale. There is a lot of opportunity for growth in this space. Accountabilities include driving the shared data and experimentation platform for the Identity division. This includes ownership of key telemetry infrastructure, big data analytics, key funnels and dashboards as well as running a data science team. This enables our team to gain better data driven insight to improve our products and services for our customers.
The role requires: Demonstrated engineering leadership – e.g. proven experience managing complex engineering projects, proven architecture / design skills. Proven experience managing and growing high performing teams. Proven collaboration skills – the role will require deep partnership across the Identity division and with teams across Microsoft. Customer obsession – the role serves internal and external customers. A passion for building diverse and inclusive teams. 5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams (design, architecture, development and quality assurance). Highly valued
