The Team: Amazon Books is a brick and mortar store that offers a curated selection of books and an array of Amazon devices. It is a magical experience that combines the best parts of a neighborhood bookstore with Amazon.com’s low prices and the expertise of passionate, knowledgeable staff who tailor their approach to the unique needs of each customer. We are looking for a scale-focused, customer-obsessed, and startup-capable Principal Program Manager to help be the glue of this new initiative. The organization has also launched Amazon's own Point of Sale System You will lead the program management for the point of sale systems including the software stack, the hardware and peripheral decisions, the manufacturing, procurement and provisioning processes and influencing key partners in the hardware and technical operations partner teams. You will co-own goals for building a system that is highly secure, can scale to hundreds of physical stores, independent of form factor, independent of desktop
· 7+ years post-MBA or 10+ years work experience performing relevant program or project management job functions · Experience managing multiple competing priorities and engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders · Experience leading cross-org v-teams and working with a matrixed team of stakeholders to achieve common goal · Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills at the executive level · Strong critical thinking skills with ability to challenge normal operations · Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results · Strong bias for action and be able to work
