This position requires an individual who has significant employee relations experience, deep subject matter knowledge, and strong communication and interpersonal skills that enables the individual to work successfully on a broad spectrum of employee relations issues and projects. The position supports Amazon.com’s Amazon Web Services Infrastructure and Customer Support organizations. The central objective of Amazon’s Employee Relations (ER) team is to ensure our organization’s treatment of employees is fair, respectful, and consistent with our framework of our core business values and objectives. To support that objective, this position’s responsibilities fall into proactive and reactive categories. The individual will lead a team of skilled ER professionals and work as a project manager on proactive programs that improve local and network employee relations. · At least seven years direct experience in employee relations, or labor/employment law with an emphasis on employee relations work · Experience in either manufacturing/distribution/call center/data-centers/engineering development centers locations nearly essential; with solid labor relations experience a significant plus · Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree, JD, or other specialized training in employee relations a significant plus · Solid understanding of federal and state employment and labor laws · Experience in designing and delivering successful training programs · Technically proficient
