As one of Microsoft's most exciting initiatives, speech recognition (SR) is driving the accuracy and robustness of natural user interfaces. At the foundation are the science and technology that enable the user experiences and power our network services, clients/devices. The Speech Group develops SR features in Enterprise, Entertainment and Desktop and Mobile products and particularly in the voice platform that powers Cortana digital assistant experience on desktop and mobile computing devices, Bing voice search, Microsoft Office dictation, Skype speech to speech translation, HoloLens and Xbox Kinect voice search and voice command. Our group brings together talent in the areas of signal processing, speech recognition, statistical modeling and Deep Learning to develop and deliver robust, natural and scalable speech recognition across a rich set of scenarios and languages. Your responsibilities include developing novel machine learning and data mining algorithms, designing and executing offline/online experiments, working with other scientists, engineers and developers on advancing state-of-the-art SR technologies for real world user scenarios, investigating and solving speech recognition accuracy and robustness issues across broad range of scenarios and applications. Essential attributes and competencies include: Excellence in scientific thinking and execution, ability to drive efficient experiment definition and investigations, solid skill in developing state-of-the-art
BS/MS Degree in CS/EE with focus in one or more of machine learning related areas. PhD preferred. Knowledge and experience with speech or related areas is strongly preferred 10+ years' experience in speech or machine learning R and D in an academic or industrial setting. 10+ years' experience in software development skills and aptitude for software design, coding and quality; large scale and distributed computing, and programming with scripting languages.
