The Big Data Technologies team built a platform that replaced and enabled the deprecation of the largest Oracle Data Warehouse. We have redefined the Analytics landscape and are now evolving this platform to be the Big Data Marketplace at Amazon and we’re seeking a Software Engineering Manager to get us there. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and building a platform to manage the integration between data storage, processing, and computation. This new platform, will enable current and future technologies to be quickly and easily added, enhanced or maintained. Position Responsibilities: - Hire, mentor and lead a software engineering team - Lead design, implementation, and deployment of successful highly distributed, large scale services that have a major impact on the entire company
- BS degree or higher in Computer Science (or related program) with 5+ years of relevant experience - Demonstrated leadership ability as a software engineering manager - Strong customer focus - Deep understanding of software development in a team, and a track record of shipping great software on time - Experience taking a lead role in architecting, designing, and building complex software systems. - Experience with ETL (Extract Transform Load) and Data Warehousing systems
