Amazon is looking for a smart and experienced leader to join the Office team as a Manager of Vendor Management (MVM), responsible for some of the largest names in Consumer Electronics. Within this role, the MVM will manage a high performing Vendor Management team, set the strategic direction for the category, think big about the future of the business and develop and maintain strong and strategic relationships with vendors. Areas of responsibility include: * Hiring, developing and leading a team of three Retail Vendor Managers. * Managing a full P and L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for the categories, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business. * Setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision. * Driving strategic negotiations with large external vendors. * Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale
· Bachelor’s degree · Superior analytical skills and willingness to roll up sleeves to get it done · Highly polished communication skills - speaking, writing, presenting and negotiating · 5+ years’ experience in related field · 2+ years’ experience hiring and managing a team · Proficient with Excel and Word · MBA preferred · Track record of results, setting strategy, and running a large volume and high profile business · Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development · High threshold for working and thriving in an ambiguous, fast paced environment
