Amazon is seeking qualified Security Engineers to join our innovative, high energy Information Security team and work within the Amazon Security Operations Center (ASOC). ASOC Security Engineers respond to security events, conduct analysis of threats such as malware and intrusion attempts, and provide security services to safeguard highly sensitive data like customer information. They work hands-on with detection systems and vulnerability analysis tools to respond to potential threats to Amazon systems. ASOC Security Engineers are unique individuals prepared to relentlessly resolve security issues by gathering and analyzing event data and conducting root-cause analysis. Responsibilities: · Provide front-line response to detection systems and alarms as part of a global follow-the-sun team · Investigate malware, targeted attacks, intrusion attempts, and vulnerabilities · Implement and review controls to protect Amazon data and systems · Work with software development teams to proactively
· BA/BS in a related discipline with at least five years of experience in a related role · Experience triaging security alerts and incident response · Experience analyzing malware · Experience with network or computer security · Scripting and automation experience · Knowledge of network and web protocols · Knowledge of network, system, and web application attacks and mitigations · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Proficiency in at least one high-level coding language· MA/MS in a related field · 3 years experience in a senior security incident response role · Experience triaging
