The Cloud Server Infrastructure (CSI) team in Microsoft's C+E division is responsible for delivering server infrastructure for Microsoft's online services. The hardware for operating these services (over 200 and counting), comprises of hundreds of thousands of servers spread globally and applications that reach hundreds of millions of users every day. Our customer-base is growing rapidly, our infrastructure investments are multiplying, and the size of our global infrastructure is increasing by the day - along with the scale of our challenges. We are seeking a candidate with server and network hardware infrastructure experience to manage, deploy, troubleshoot, and debug development level hardware in a dynamic engineering environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of network infrastructure, server deployment tools and infrastructure such as Microsoft Hyper-Converged Clusters, Switches (Arista, Cisco, Dell), SCCM, PXE, DHCP, DNS. You must be capable of in-depth troubleshooting of server and network hardware infrastructure, both at the component, blade and rack level.
Skills and Qualifications: Networking: Experience with Cisco, Arista and Dell switches. VLAN, subnet, Trunking and routing configuration. Troubleshooting of High-Bandwidth Network solutions include Mellanox CX-5, FPGAs with embedded NICs and related equipment. X86 Architecture: Understands component architecture: CPU, GPU, Chipset, DRAM, PCIe, Chipset, SATA, USB, Video, and Storage (HDD/SSD). Windows Server Infrastructure: Windows 2016 / 2019 Server, Hyper-Converged Clusters, WINPE, WDS, SCCM, Imaging Environment, DNS, DHCP, Domain Architecture Scripting: Powershell, Python or equivalent scripting
