Microsoft's Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) organization is putting in place a new central data sciences and analytics function to drive key CELA strategies. The mission of this new team is to infuse data science and AI to address the world's great challenges. The team will drive new insights that create local economic opportunities, address societal challenges, and build trust in Microsoft technologies, in addition to ensuring the delivery of legal services and approach to compliance is world-class. We are seeking a Director of Data Analytics Visualization who is passionate about helping CELA drive impact through data. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of the issues relating to Microsoft's AI for Good program and have a history of proven success in developing compelling visualizations and driving communications programs. They will work across the CELA Data Science and Analytics team and business and communications leaders across Microsoft and NGOs to ensure clarity

Lead the design and development of new data visualization solutions for telling the story of infusing Data Science and AI into addressing the world's challenges Create compelling data visualization prototypes and design solutions that make data more useful, accessible and impactful Review existing data visualization capabilities and establish design standards and templates Work collaboratively across the team and extended data analytics community in CELA to share best practices and ensure analysts are adhering to core standards Drive cross-organization communications strategy, analytics and operations
Expertise and demonstrated delivery of high-quality data visualization prototypes and solutions Knowledge of the issues relating AI for Good, including sustainable use of the planet's resources, accessibility for all, needs of children, disaster relief, refugees and displaced people and human rights Expertise working with big data and related analytic data visualization technologies (e.g., Power BI) Experience in analyzing big data using statistical tools such as SQL preferred Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (e.g., creating formulas, pivot tables) Strong business acumen and storytelling
