We are looking for a motivated and experienced Director of Global Certifications to lead the Certification Services team. This role is essential to the planning and acquisition of certifications and approvals necessary to bring our innovative devices to the global market. The position will be part of the Microsoft's Devices Safety, Compliance and Sustainability (SCS) team consisting of progressive, diverse, and creative professionals who assist in designing, testing and manufacturing some of the best-loved computing and entertainment devices in the world. Our teams ship tens of millions of Xbox and Surface – Laptop, Pro, Book, Studio, and Hub -products every year. Come be part of what's next! You will lead a global team that is responsible managing the acquisition and management of certifications related to EMC, RF, batteries, product safety, energy and environmental in over 120 markets. You will oversee all aspects of global certifications including coordinating requirements definitions,
Run and lead a team of certifications professionals from concept planning to delivering the product to market with appropriate certifications. Develop a strategic approach to market access and define and document the workflow stemming from market plans. Lead the team to deliver product documentation including specifications and presentations to meet requirements and communicate progress. Work cross functionally as a team with technology specialists in software to design an integrated system across multiple disciplines for delivery and transparency of certifications planning, status and services
Minimum of Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as Electrical or Computer Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred. Strong communication skills required, including the ability to clearly express technical concepts in verbal and written forms at the executive level. Demonstrated leadership, project management and collaboration skills. Experience in and commitment to investing in team growth and development. 10+ years of experience in the electronic engineering sector related to hands on experience in obtaining global approvals and certifications for high-volume consumer electronics products
