We are looking for a user researcher to be part of a cutting-edge team shaping the future of gaming and driving better user experiences across multiple platforms (including Xbox One, Windows, Streaming, and future platforms). Are you a creative, research-minded individual with broad methodological skills that likes to think outside the box? If so, apply your passion for research and games to the development of fun and innovative gaming experiences. You will be joining a unique team at Microsoft known for pioneering and institutionalizing the adaptation of psychological research methods to the games and the entertainment industry.

Cross-discipline collaboration with engineering and development partners in framing their business questions and developing an appropriate research plan to address these. Drive, develop, and refine innovative user testing methodologies for new entertainment products and established video game franchises and platforms. Work with the User Research Lead to develop a research program showcasing breakthrough methods and best-in-class game production user research. Gather and interpret data from lab studies, surveys, instrumentation, and usage logs. Contribute to building a world-class research organization
Minimum Requirements: Advanced degrees (Master's or Ph.D.) in experimental psychology (experimental, social, cognitive, etc.), human computer interaction, human factors, computer science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. Familiarity with analyzing and interpreting self-report, behavioral, and physiological data collected from users; experience with large datasets Familiarity with scale development (and associated reliability and validity) and experience working with satisfaction measures or building models of satisfaction.
