Turn 10 Studios is looking for a Design Director to join our Forza Motorsport team. Forza Motorsport is one of the largest and most successful gaming franchises and home to a hugely engaged and passionate racing community. The Design Director will be part of a collaborative team that will define the overall direction for the Forza Motorsport product line and inspire us to greatness. You will drive the vision for new interactions and experiences that support accessible racing and driving game mechanics. You will build forward thinking progression and reward systems that are engaging for both streamers and viewers. You will own the direction for our moment to moment gameplay with systems that foster mastery of vehicle dynamics and promote positive online racing and interactions. Design and deliver genre leading experiences and innovation in moment to moment driving and racing. Design and deliver systems and structures that create and foster a vibrant, healthy, and inclusive racing community. Design and deliver modern player progression and reward systems. Manage a team of designers. Collaborate, inspire, and lead a multi-disciplinary feature team with internal and external development resources. Be a passionate, data driven advocate of the needs and motivations of the players, streamers, and viewers.
5+ years working in a design capacity on at least 1 shipped AAA titles with a role focused on vehicle dynamics. Experience leading a design team through all phases of development from concept to ship. Deep understanding of various business models across all genres of games and endpoints. Experience developing retention mechanics and experiences. Comprehensive understanding of player psychology and gaming motivations. Experienced manager who understands how to motivate team members to deliver their best work.
