Amazon Devices seeks a Data Scientist with strong analytical and communication skills to join our team. As a member of a large-scale science team, you have opportunities to engage with projects spanning across the entire Devices family (Echo, Fire TV, Fire Tablets, Kindle, etc.) and a variety of business functions such as demand forecasting, inventory planning, and marketing. You will come up with elegant solutions to our most pressing business problems with key learnings from rigorous statistical/ML methods. You are responsible for providing actionable business insights – both forward-looking marketing plans and customer segmentation approaches to drive sales, and backward-looking causal attribution and diagnosis of market trends – in an easy-to-digest manner at the highest levels of the Devices organization. You will be responsible for building sophisticated models and carrying out complex analyses that involve hundreds of millions of customer data across multiple data ecosystems. You
· Masters with 1+ years of experience or Bachelors in a quantitative discipline with 4+ years of experience. · 1+ years of experience working with database environments (Amazon Redshift, Oracle, Teradata, etc.). · 3+ years of experience working with an analytical language (SAS, R, Python, Scala, etc.). · Ability to manage complex, high-visibility projects from proof of concepts through implementation. · Outstanding critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. · Strong understanding of statistical and empirical methods (hypothesis testing, statistical inference, etc.). · Deep curiosity and passion
