The Amazon BISS (Business, Industrial and Scientific Supplies) team is looking for a Data Scientist to help us build data-driven solutions to some of the most challenging business problems we face. Whether it's understanding the quality of our selection, changing how we market, automating our reporting or reshaping the data structures used by some of our UX features you'll be at the forefront of the problem. Assessing problem definitions, generating analysis from data, communicating insights with leadership and working with several tech and business teams to deliver solutions. Your responsibilities include analyzing and extracting relevant information from large amounts of Amazon's historical business data to drive new measurement product development. You will use data mining, machine learning, and statistical techniques to

· MS Degree in a quantitative field (e.g. CS, Statistics) + 2 years of experience or BS + 5 yrs experience · Experience in experiment design and statistical methods · Able to interact with multiple data stores to obtain business data · Proficient in SQL · Proficient in the use of tools needed to maintain a data publishing pipeline (eg. Excel, etc.) · Strong verbal and written communication skills· Previous domain experience in applying Data Science in a business setting to solve complex problems · Able to automate workflows using a scripting language (eg. Python scripts that call REST APIs) · Experience
