Amazon's North America Sort Center team is looking for an experienced and motivated Data Scientist with outstanding leadership skills, proven ability to develop, enhance, automate, and manage forecasting and cutting edge prediction and learning/Artificial Intelligence models using strong quantitative skills. The successful candidate will have strong data mining, statistical modeling, machine learning skills and is comfortable facilitating ideation and working from concept through to execution. The position will partner with Engineering, Field Operations, Performance, Last Mile Delivery, Topology, Finance and Technology teams to design and develop short term and long term prediction volume prediction and risk models that use a range of data science methodologies to automate data analysis or to solve complex business problems for the Sort Center network. · Masters with two years of experience or a Bachelors degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Operations Research, Economics, Engineering or a related quantitative field with five years of working experience as a Data Scientist · Experience with statistical analysis, data modeling, regression modeling and forecasting, time series analysis, data mining, financial analysis, and demand modeling · Experience applying various machine learning techniques, and understanding the key parameters that affect their performance · Experience in Statistical Software such as R, Weka, SAS, SPSS · Proficiency with TABLEAU/R
