The mission of the Customer Data and Analytics team is to drive Consumer understanding through the use of data to achieve the goals of Microsoft's new Modern Life and Devices organization. Our team helps Microsoft's senior executives make critical decisions through the power of data. We partner closely with Product Engineering, Marketing, and Finance teams and answer key questions related to product adoption, engagement and satisfaction. Our work requires regular collaboration with our partner teams as well as technical expertise to mine big datasets and discover key insights. We believe our team provides an ideal platform for someone passionate about helping partner teams make data driven decisions. The ideal candidate should be self-directed, passionate about data, and focused on delivering the right results. The candidate should be able to apply programming acumen and a breadth of tools, data sources and analytical techniques to answer a wide range of high-impact business questions and

Build a holistic understanding of our product features, its customer, the BI data infrastructure and environment, and business goals Define, track and report key metrics by developing powerful visualizations on customer behavior and usage and become SMEs for the product(s) Understand data architecture and instrumentation Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques Understand business performance (trends, funnels) as well as answer product and business questions so as to drive product and marketing
Required Qualifications: Previous hands-on experience using SQL Server queries Previous experience in analyzing big data and unstructured datasets Previous experience using and implementing business intelligence solutions (for example, data warehouse, Power-pivots, Power BI, Tableau) and experience in advanced Excel functions (e.g., creating formulas, pivot tables) The ideal candidate also brings: Unique mix of technical, development, project and program management skills Ability to understand, translate and map business and product questions into analyses projects and create insights-driven visualizations
