Amazon’s Consumer Electronics Technology organization is looking for a smart, team-oriented, highly analytical leader to join Warranty Category. The Category Merchant Manager role offers opportunity to manage and drive the warranty category while managing strategic vendor relationships. The successful category merchant manager will be a strong general athlete with a commitment to drive growth. He or she must be able to work independently, be comfortable with ambiguity and analyzing numbers and metrics. The successful candidate will be a strong project manager with deep analytical abilities, he/she will ideally over-index in several leadership competencies, particularly deep dive, invent and simplify, ownership, bias for action and deliver results. The breadth and depth of experience gained in the Category Merchant Manager role will equip a candidate to rotate into many of the other Amazon roles (Vendor Manager, In-Stock Manager) on their path to Category Leader. · BA/BS required. · 5+ years of vendor management, category management, or consulting. · Experience managing relationships with stakeholders and vendors/partners. · Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with senior business leaders, vendor executives, and partner business/tech teams. · Experience in defining or collaborating on the design of the customer-facing products/promotions.· MBA from a leading business school. · Experience in SQL. · Experience in retail, e-commerce, warranty or insurance industry. · Experience in category management or online merchandizing/marketing. · History
