The Microsoft and Surface Accessories Categories are vital to completing Microsoft's Surface and PC experiences. Through this business we generate significant revenue and profit for the company and it is those deep and valuable relationships with retailers and distributors that have made our success possible. The role of the Accessories Category Manager is to be the subject matter expert and voice for the regions and partners, provide category marketing and consumer marketing and to equip partners and key stakeholders to deliver the business objectives. Team/Department Mission Working in close collaboration with key stakeholders and across the range of products and services, this is a senior category marketing role to provide leadership and evangelize Accessories to the consumer/retail marketing and sales teams. This person will be responsible for leading marketing and category initiatives designed to drive sales and affinity for all products and services. The role serves as the key interface

Key Accountabilities Be the Category management voice for the Retail team to our internal audiences so they understand region specific category performance and issues ('the art of business summarization'). Provide effective coaching and direction as needed to enable marketing professionals to accomplish their objectives and reach Microsoft overall goals. Support building the strategy and vision to grow the Accessories category using consumer insights and data across all consumer channels both Retail and Distribution. Ensure strong field readiness programs exist to grow the category management competency
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Desired Experience Strong individual with a talent for articulating a complex business story precisely, succinctly and truthfully to senior leaders. Relevant consumer marketing experience in the retail channel or technology field. Deep experience in working in highly matrixed teams. Broad skill set encompassing excellent marketing and relationship management capabilities with proven ability to collaborate well across functional groups and virtual teams to achieve specific business objectives.
