Amazon is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst in our Seattle office to join its fast growing advertising business and to make Amazon Earth's most customer-centric company. You have a passion for using data to drive business decisions. You are motivated by improving reporting applications and finding innovative, simplified solutions to provide the Finance and business teams with robust and automated insight. You thrive in solving challenging problems analyzing very large data sets. You enjoy diving below the surface to identify the root cause and the “so what” rather than just superficial trends. You love participating in cross-functional projects that will directly impact the commercial performance of the business. You are a fast learner and are eager to gain the valuable experience that comes with working in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence. You are able to work independently with initial guidance and manage a dynamic workload delivering projects on time and within budget
· Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or related field. · 5+ years of data analysis skills – e.g. database query construction and data mining. · 3 years of experience in SQL, database, and business intelligence. · Exposure to BI tools. · Expert level experience in MS Excel and VBA. · Highly organized and ability to complete a high volume of tasks and projects with tight deadlines with the guidance of the BI Team Lead. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Strong team player and the ability to work in a diverse environment with people in various locations
