The Economic Technology team (ET) is looking for an outstanding Data Engineer who is proficient in Big Data Systems to support Machine Learning / Economics based Statistical Models, Algorithms, and Solutions at scale. The NA EconTech Team applies Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Causal Inference, and Econometric/Economic Methodologies to derive actionable insights about the complex economy of Amazon’s retail business. We also develop Statistical Models and Algorithms to drive strategic business decisions and improve operations. We are committed to helping Amazon and the worlds’ Entrepreneurs on Amazon Marketplace to deliver a great experience to our customers. We are an interdisciplinary team of Economists, Engineers, and Scientists incubating and building day one solutions using cutting-edge technology, to solve some of the toughest business problems at Amazon. You will work closely with Scientists, Economists and Engineers to architect and implement solutions that handle large volumes
· Bachelor’s degree in CS, engineering or related discipline is required · 2+ years professional experience in data engineering or comparable position · Strong SQL Skills · Experience of working with Big Data Systems such as Hadoop, Spark, etc. · Programming / scripting experience with languages such as Scala or Python · Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize workload and roadmaps · Solid written and verbal communication skills · Master’s degree in CS, engineering or equivalent · Familiarity with AWS solutions such as EMR, S3, and Redshift · 3+ years professional experience in data engineering
