Amazon Devices is seeking a software development manager to lead a high growth, early stage team incubating multiple new strategic initiatives. You will lead a team to develop our first prototypes and launch a V1 product. The ideal candidate is scrappy, innovative and enjoys taking on hard, ambiguous problems. They are creative, driven and highly productive. They are a great team player who will naturally elevate the performance of the people around them and have a track record of leading and delivering complex technical systems involving software, hardware, and machine learning. You will be working with a cross functional team of software engineers, hardware engineers, machine learning scientists, product managers, business development leads, and designers. You will build scalable solutions incorporating cutting edge machine learning algorithms, big data, sensors, smart home devices, cloud services, and Alexa skills. · 10+ years experience building production software systems and leading teams · BS or MS in CS or related field · Programming experience in, at least, one modern programming language such as C, C++, C#, Java, or PERL· Excellence in technical communication with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy · A strong track record of and passion for delivering complex, engaging customer user experiences · Experience managing projects from scoping requirements through V1 launch and V2 iterations
