• Ability to create high-quality, performant 3D assets • Ability to create custom shaders • Ability to optimize/port existing 3D assets (using Simplygon or similar tool) • Able to assess customer needs (especially with external Microsoft strategic partners) to problem-solve and implement innovative design solutions • Able to work as part of a team (sometimes across time-zones), for example working with other technical artists, visual/interaction designers, and engineers to design and deliver Mixed Reality apps and experiences; partnering with Production to specify deliverables and schedules; working
• BFA or MA Design and/or Computer Science degree, or comparable experience • 5+ years experience with 3D design, demonstrating a refined production aesthetic and an appreciation of the nuances of high-quality visual and interactive design; experience with and creating for AR / VR apps and experiences • Extensive knowledge of 3D creation packages (Maya/Max/Modo/Houdini/etc), and the ability to extend the capabilities of these packages via plugin APIs is preferred • Extensive knowledge of asset optimization tools (Simplygon or similar) • You can create custom shaders • You can prototype in Unity,
