At Business AI Center of Excellence, we work closely with Microsoft Research to conduct state-of-the-art AI research and apply the research results to game-changing, AI-powered transformation of business processes such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Services. We are looking for a Research Manager to manage a team of researchers and software engineers, and work closely with product teams in the Microsoft Business Applications Group to infuse AI technologies into their products in the 6 to 12 month timeframe, in addition to incubating transformative and disruptive new products for the 2 to 3 year horizon.
The person in this position will report directly to CVP/CTO of AI. Your primary responsibilities will be to lead a team of researchers to develop AI technologies, participate in academic leaderboard competitions, infuse AI into business applications products, and help develop long-term AI strategy for the broader org.
Required: PhD in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field A t least 7 years of post-PhD industrial AI research experience A t least 2 years of AI research management experience Demonstrated AI technical leadership in the academic community Demonstrated AI product shipping experience at scale Preferred: High-quality AI paper publications at top conferences E xperience in managing a 5+ person team F amiliarity with Microsoft product lines E xpertise in NLP and/or Computer Vision
